WHAT DO I DO WHEN A DEATH OCCURS?
When death occurs at home or a place of business:
If the person was not under hospice care, the police or ambulance will have to be notified immediately.

The next call you place should be to a funeral director. Funeral directors are here to help you obtain a death certificate, transport the body, and in the event pre-planning was not done, select a casket or coffin and arrange the funeral or memorial service. The funeral director will also help you notify the employer and insurance company of the deceased to assist with those arrangements. Funeral directors are here to help and advise you and will work very hard to relieve the stress and logistics involved in funeral planning.
WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF EMBALMING?
Embalming is the process of temporarily preserving a body for public viewing or transportation.
WHAT HAPPENS IF THE MAIN MEMBER OF THE POLICY DIES?
If a main member dies, the family needs to select a new main member for the policy within 15 days. The information must be sent to process changes. Failure to update the schedule may result in future claims being rejected, as no new valid main member on the policy exist.
